FJSS Group Anti-Slavery Statement

The Fair Justice System for Scotland (FJSS) Group is firmly committed to eradicating all forms of slavery and human trafficking, in alignment with our core values of justice, equality, and respect for human rights. We believe that modern slavery—in all its forms, including forced labour, human trafficking, servitude, and exploitation—has no place in Scotland or within any aspect of our operations, partnerships, and supply chains.

Our Commitment

FJSS Group condemns slavery and human trafficking in the strongest possible terms. We recognize our responsibility as a legal charity and community organization to uphold rigorous standards in promoting workplaces and communities free from exploitation. Our anti-slavery stance extends to every part of our work, including charitable activities, policy initiatives, collaborations with government agencies, stakeholder engagement, and support for vulnerable and marginalized groups.

Identification and Prevention

We actively work to prevent and identify risks of modern slavery by:

  • Maintaining robust recruitment, employment, and safeguarding policies.

  • Providing clear guidance and training for staff, volunteers, and partners to recognize and report signs of exploitation.

  • Requiring all suppliers, contractors, and partner organizations to comply with anti-slavery and human rights laws.

Reporting and Action

FJSS Group encourages all employees, contractors, and beneficiaries to report any concerns or suspected cases of slavery or trafficking, without fear of retaliation. We will investigate all reports thoroughly and take immediate, appropriate action—up to and including ending relationships with suppliers or partners found to be in violation.

Advocacy and Support

Through education, outreach, and collaborative action, FJSS Group advocates for stronger legal protections, support for survivors, and increased public awareness of the realities and risks of modern slavery. We partner with relevant agencies, NGOs, and legal sector reformers to influence policy and foster safer, more just communities.

Review and Accountability

This statement is reviewed annually and updated in line with best practices and new legislation. Senior management is responsible for its implementation, and our Board provides oversight and accountability to ensure that anti-slavery measures remain a priority.

Conclusion

At FJSS Group, we stand united in creating a Scotland—and a justice system—that is free from slavery, exploitation, and injustice. We call on all members of our community and partner networks to join us in this unwavering commitment.
